U13 Girls - DV Godzilla - 3rd place!
U16 Girls - DV Misfits - 3rd place!
U15 Boys - DV Diablos - Champions!
U16 Boys - DV Inter - Champions!

DV Godzilla is the team that played the U14 Girls group in the Diablo Valley Futsal league and was champion winning every single game in the league. They went to Regionals in April 2011 and got the title for the second year in a row (in 2010, they got their first tile in the U12 bracket)!
Nationals 2011 was then their big test and as a U13 team, the girls stepped up nicely in a U14 fligth to end up in 3rd place. The core of this team play in the same soccer team for DFC and little by little they are enhancing their futsal strategy!
DV Misfits is a mix of U16 Girls that play in different clubs but most of the girls have been playing futsal since their young age! The core of this group was the champion of the Diablo Valley Futsal League for the High-School Girls age group.
Their hard work was worth it! They committed to practices with Ricardo and Rodrigo Da Silva and learned some nice futsal strategies and movements which helped them, even with not too much practicing time, to get a nice third place. Their last game showed that if this group would have more time practicing futsal, they would, for sure, get their hands on the first-place trophey!
Congrats girls for the hard work and thanks to the parents for their commitment!
The U15 Boys DV Diablos has been working together for at least 2 years when last year they were finalist in the Futsal Nationals in Long Beach and lost the title in penalty kicks!
They were ready since then and this year they proved it by showing the real futsal game and a great sense of unity in and outside the field! Beyond that, this team had to play in a U16 flight and came out in first place winning all the 3 games of the first round. Well, they sure would deserve to go to the final match of the U16 group but the rules of the tournament had them decide the title in their own age group against BNC Bethesda Revolution and after some very intense minutes holding a 1 x 1 score, the team started to find the way to the net with less than 7 minutes to finish the match with a 4 x 1 win.
The celebration had to wait a little as the U16 team - DV Inter - was ready to start their final game against the U16 team New England Futsal that came in second place from the DV Diablos (U15) flight. The U16 team has a core of players that play for the Earthquakes Academy and some of these players have also played in previous futsal Nationals but this Nationals was the first one this team came together and paying attention to Ricardo & Rodrigo's orientation, this team stepped up in every single game during the tournament to simply shine in the championship game finishing up, a very tough game, with the 4 x 1 score - the same score that took the other team of our league to be the champions!
It was a great weekend and the league would like to congratulate the players, the parents who committed their time and trusted the DVFL staff to coach their kids!
